Tunisia
Tawfiq Omrane has volunteered his art for emergencies, and changed the style of his colors and shapes in order to avoid detention during the eighties in Tunisia, a time of contradictions and persecutions. His style has therefore gained versatility and the ability to break free from fear.
Tawfiq, the advocate for the oppressed, born on 13 February 1959, worked for several newspapers including Al Rai and Al Mustaqbal. He also worked for the Gazette Touristique as a press producer from 1980 till 1995.
Recently, he participated in television shows with live caricature commenting on political and cultural talk shows.
In 2016, Tawfiq Omrane was selected to represent the Arab world in the context of the UNESCO Conference on Euro-Arab Dialogue during which he was drawing live on the air, alongside the French artist Lasalle representing the European side.
Tawfiq’s work was included in many exhibitions and received several awards. He has published 3 books: El-Jrid mIn Khilal Nokatihi (The Djerid through its Jokes), El Raqib, and Nazih.

طوّع فنّه للظّروف الطارئة ، وغيّر في أسلوب ألوانه ، كل ذلك من أجل أن ينجو من الاعتقال ، في فترة الثمانينات ، فترة التناقضات والملاحقات . وهكذا أصبح أسلوبه متنوعاً وقادرا على كسر حاجز الخوف.
هو توفيق عمران ، المنحاز فنه للمظلومين ، ولد في تونس في13 شباط (فبراير) عام 1959، وعمل في صحف عديدة منها الرأي والمستقبل وكما عمل مخرجاً صحفياً في مجلة La Gazette Touristiqueوذلك خلال فترة 1980 الى عام 1995.
وحديثا ، عرف توفيق عمران من خلال مشاركاته في البرامج التلفزيونية من خلال رسوماته الكاريكاتورية على الهواء مباشرة تعليقا على الحوارات الثقافية والسياسية.
في عام 2016 ، تم اختيار توفيق عمران لتمثيل العالم العربي في القمة العربية الأوروبية التي نظمتها الأونيسكو في باريس حيث قام توفيق بالرسم على الهواء مباشرة ، برفقة الفنان الفرنسي لاسال الذي مثل الجانب الأوروبي .
شارك توفيق بمعارض عديدة وقدمت له الجوائز ، كما أصدر ثلاثة كتب : الجريد من خلال نكته ، الرقيب ، و نزيه.
