Become an Illustrator in a week with Maya Fidawi!
NEW WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT:

"I used to draw when I was a kid, but as I grew older, I was hesitant to study art, thinking it's not a serious profession, is it too late to learn?"
Well, this is the right place and time for you to give your art a chance to bloom.
And no it's never too late to learn.
This is your chance to learn the basics of illustration art, from scratch.
For a whole week, from 9:30am till 5:00pm, you will completely disconnect from the daily chaos outside and enjoy your time with some art, music and good vibes in my studio in Beirut.
Breakfast will be served daily, and you will have a one hour lunch break from 1pm till 2pm.
As a start, in this workshop, you will learn the concept of illustration art, introducing some of the greatest makers and masters of this industry throughout history.
Learning the basics on how to transform real characters into illustrations, using geometrical shapes to build your humans or animals or places, or all.
This workshop will cover concept design as well; meaning, creating the correct mood for your characters, based upon research, going through the slightest details of the surrounding, following a certain color palette that will fit the character and where he/she/it is coming from, based upon the story you will create.
You will learn manual art techniques, from acrylic, to ink, to coloring pencils and etching... all the way to mixed media and collage.
You have the choice to work digitally on your tablets or iPads, it's up to you, but I'd choose manual techniques if I were you, it's way more fun and you will end up having a real piece of art in your hands.

Fees: $250
All art materials are provided in the studio, just come as you are.
