11th International Comic Strip Festival “FIBDA” from October 2nd to 6th in Algiers

Placed under the slogan “Algiers Capital of Comics”, the 11th edition of the Algiers Cartoon Culture Festival will take place from October 2 to 6, 2018 at the Esplanade of Riad El Feth, in Algiers.

In this aspect, Canada will be its guest of honour, a country which has been represented since the inaugural festival.

French and English-speaking comics and scriptwriters will be present at this 11th edition.

In addition to Canada, country in the spotlight with 8 authors, Belgium, Spain, the United States of America, Togo, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia and for the first time- Sweden and Colombia, will participate in this 11th FIBDA.
For their part, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the creations of renowned cartoonists, such as: Julie Rochereau, Jean Paul Eid and Guy Delisle (Canada), Antonio Altarriba Ordonez (Spain) alongside Algerian comic artists, such as; Nawel Ouaret and French Philippe Brocard, curator of the Lyon Comic Strip Festival (France).

Workshops, round tables and conferences on the history of Comics, animated by comic artists, will be on the agenda.

In addition, exhibitions and live performances are on the program under the theme of “living together”.

The 11th FIBDA also plans activities in the hospitals of Algiers for the benefit of children, also invited to participate in the contest of disguise “Cosplay”, organized by the National Office of the copyright and neighboring rights (Onda) and the editions specialized in comics and manga, “Z-Link”.
