Morocco - 1987
Zakariaa Tmalah was born in the city of “El Ksar El Kebir”, in Morocco, then moved to live and work in Rabat, as a secondary teacher of arts. He graduated in Comic Illustration from the Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan.
He was able to work on different visual and graphic methods, in a modern style, simulating the reality of various subjects like crime, war, women, society, environment, history and politics.
In 2011, he published his first work as a professional Artist after collaborating with a Moroccan magazine dedicated to children.
He won the Award for The Best Illustrated Comic Project in 2012 as soon as he began his professional independent career, for his project titled “Under Zero”, within the International Festival for Comics in Tetouan. This project was digitally published in 2013 by the Saudi Arabian publishing house “Noun”, then published later in 2016 on paper with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
In 2014, he won the third Prize for his project “Iman” at the “Ninth International Art Forum” in Tetouan, while his other project “The Temptation of the be-high” won the second Prize in the same Forum in 2015. That illustrated story was written by Mohammad Said Al Rihany, drawn by Zakariaa Tmalah and published with the support of the Ministry of Culture in 2017.
In 2018, he won the first Prize for “The Graphic Illustration” in the “I am here” competition in Casablanca, Morocco.
As in 2020, his comic story “Color Blindness” won the “Oxfam” prize.
Zakariaa has participated in many different forums and festivals inside Morocco and abroad, such as “The Three Cultures Forums” in Seville, Spain the Algerian Comic Festival, as well as participating in many exhibitions like “Wamadat” exposition for digital Art which was held in his hometown “El Ksar El Kebir”.

ولد في مدينة القصر الكبير في المغرب ،وإنتقل للعيش والعمل في الرباط كأستاذ ثانوي للفنون التطبيقية تخرج من معهد الفنون الجميلة في تطوان تخصص أشرطة مرسومة.
إستطاع العمل منذ وجوده في المعهد على وسائط مختلفة وأساليب بصرية وغرافيكية محاكية للواقع، وموضوعات تتنوع بين الجريمة والحرب والمرأة والمجتمع والبيئة والتاريخ والسياسة ولكن دائمًا بأسلوب معاصر.
نشر عام 2011 اول أعماله كفنان محترف بعد تعاونه مع مجلة مغربية مخصصة للأطفال.
عام 2012 بدأ التمالح مسيرته المهنية المستقلة، حيث فاز بجائزة أحسن مشروع شريط مرسوم، ضمن فعاليات المهرجان الدولي للأشرطة المرسومة بتطوان عن مشروعه «تحت الصفر»، الذي صدر رقميًا سنة 2013 عن دار النشر السعودية « نون»، ثم صدر ورقيًا عام 2016 بدعم من وزارة الثقافة.
أما مشروعه «إيمان» فقد حصل على الجائزة الثالثة بالمنتدى الدولي للفن التاسع بتطوان عام 2014.
فيما فاز «إغراء الأعالي» باالجائزة الثانية بنفس المنتدى دورة العام 2015 ، هذه القصة المصورة ألّفها محمد سعيد الريحاني ونفذ رسوماتها التمالح وصدرت ورقيًا عام 2017 بدعم من وزارة الثقافة.
كما نال أيضًا الجائزة الأولى لأحسن رسم تعبيري illustration سنة 2018.ضمن مسابقة «أنا هنا» في الدار البيضاء.
بدورها نالت قصته المصورة «عمى الألوان» سنة 2020 جائزة أوكسفام .
شارك زكرياء التمالح في مهرجانات ومنتديات عدة داخل وخارج المغرب، منها ملتقى الثقافات الثلاث في اشبيلية – إسبانيا ، ومهرجان الجزائر للشريط المرسوم، كما إنضم الى العديد من المعارض الفنية الجماعية ومن بينها معرض «ومضات» الفردي للفن الرقمي الذي أقامه في مدينة القصر الكبير مكان ولادته.
