Palestine
The symbolism in Qaddura’s cartoon “The Weapon of Caricature” is a powerful representation of his journey as a cartoonist. In most of his drawings, he appears as a fighter, following Palestinian events and expressing them. Qaddura is not only a talented artist, but also an active campaigner. He has contributed to trade union work and participated in the founding of the European Palestinian Youth Union in Sweden, where he resides after emigrating from Syria. He is also a member of the international “Cartoon Movement."
His presence in the Palestinian struggle has been particularly significant. The events in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in 2021 were a turning point in his career. He had the opportunity to display many of his works in a special exhibition in that neighborhood, his first solo exhibition, although it was in his absence. His works carried strong messages of condemnation against the crimes of the Israelis. Notably, a Swedish magazine featured one of his cartoons on its cover, depicting the Israelis’ attempts to uproot the residents of the neighborhood from their homes and the residents’ steadfastness in their homes and their right to their land.
Qaddura uses social media to disseminate his work and works on producing videos that encapsulate the movement of his drawings. If his works are banned, he turns to holding exhibitions and participating in others. While he is keen to convey his drawings to his people in Palestine, he is also keen to show the suffering of the Palestinians to those who know nothing about it.

الرمزية التي حملتها لوحته "سلاح الكاريكاتير" التي رسمها أحمد قدورة، رسام الكاريكاتير السوري من أصل فلسطيني، حيث قلم الرسام يواجه البندقية، تختزل رحلته مع هذا الفن، حيث لم يبدُ، في معظم رسومه، إلا مقاتلاً، يتابع حماوة الحدث الفلسطيني، ويعتبر نفسه معنياً بالتعبير عنه، ولم يكتفِ بالرسم، بل كان رساماً ناشطاً، ساهم في خوض العمل النقابي، وشارك في تأسيس اتحاد الشباب الأوروبي الفلسطيني في السويد، حيث يقيم بعد هجرته من سوريا، كما نال عضوية "حركة الكرتون" (Cartoon Movement) العالمية لرسامي الكاريكاتير.
كان حضوره متميزاً في حركته النضالية تلك، وكانت أحداث حي الشيخ جراح عام 2021، علامة فارقة في سيرته، إذ كانت مناسبة لعرض الكثير من أعماله، في معرض خاص، في ذلك الحي المقدسي، هو الفردي الأول له، وإن بغيابه. حمله رسائل الشجب العالية النبرة ضد جرائم الإسرائيليين. وكان لافتاً نشر مجلة سويدية تصدر في ستوكهولم، رسماً كاريكاتيرياً له على غلافها، عن محاولات الإسرائيليين اقتلاع أبناء الحي من بيوتهم، وتمسك الأهالي ببيوتهم وحقهم في أرضهم وأملاكهم.
يستخدم قدورة في نشر أعماله وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، ويعمل على تحريك إنتاج فيديوهات تختصر حركة رسومه. وإذا ما تعرضت أعماله للحظر تَحوَّل إلى إقامة معارض والمشاركة في أخرى. وهو إذ اهتم بأن يوصل رسمه إلى أهله في فلسطين، فقد كان مهتماً أيضاً بأن يعرض معاناة الفلسطينيين لمن لا يعرف شيئاً عنها.
