Born in 1972, in Tripoli, Lebanon, Barrack Rima is dividing his time between Brussels and Beirut. He is a comics artist and a film maker. And a member of Samandal comics association (Beirut).
Barrak Rima self-published a first micro-edition of this graphic novel in 1996 in Brussels, while he was studying there. It shows Beirut in the post-war era, an era full of hopes and dreams of reconstruction and prosperity. As the author puts it: “18 years later, the city has lost its soul to foreign investors and petrodollars. In reality, the war has never ended, and amnesia now rubs shoulders with disillusionment and despair…”
