His caricature drawings reflect the suffering of the Palestinian people under occupation. Art is a form of resistance and creativity is a challenge. He is the Palestinian artist Mohammad Sabaaneh.
He was born in Kuwait in 1979 and has worked as a caricature artist at the Arab American University since 2002. He published his works in several Arab newspapers, such as Al Ittihad, Al Quds Al Arabi, Al Ghad (Jordanian), Al Akhbar (Lebanese). He is currently working at Al Hayat Al Jadida newspaper (Palestinian).
He is a member of the international Cartoon Movement and has won a lot of awards. He got third place in the Arab caricature competition in 2013.
Sabaaneh has held several personal exhibitions in the UK, Spain, Washington, Berlin, Netherlands, Qatar and Syria. He is currently a lecturer in caricature at several universities, among which are An-Najah University in Birzeit, Arab American University, Kitso University in Spain and the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Moreover, Sabaaneh has taken part in many international publications and books. He has also used his art to help children with special needs express their feelings. The Library of Congress keeps one of his works in its cartoons section and has invited him in 2017 to represent the Palestinian people at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
تحكي رسوماته الكاريكاتورية عن معاناة الفلسطينيين تحت الإحتلال، فالفن مقاومة، والإبداع فعل تحدي. إنّه الفنان الفلسطيني محمد سباعنة.
ولد في الكويت عام 1979، وعمل كفنان كاريكاتوري منذ عام 2002 في الجامعة الأميركية العربية. نشر أعماله في العديد من الصحف العربية منها الإتحاد، القدس العربي، الغد الأردنية، والأخبار اللبنانية، ويعمل حالياً في صحيفة الحياة الجديدة الفلسطينية.
هو عضو في حركة الكرتون العالمية، وقد فاز العديد من الجوائز وحاز على المرتبة الثالثة في مسابقة الكاريكاتور العربية في عام 2013.
أقام سباعنة معارض شخصية في بريطانيا، إسبانيا، واشنطن، برلين، هولندا، قطر وسوريا. وهو الآن محاضر عن الفن الكاريكاتوري في الكثير من الجامعات منها جامعة النجاح في بيرزيت، الجامعة الأميركية العربية، جامعة «Kitso» في اسبانيا، وجامعة الفنون البصرية في نيويورك.
شارك سباعنة في الكثير من المنشورات والكتب العالمية، كما إستخدم فنّه ليساعد الأطفال ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة للتعبير عن مشاعرهم . تحتفظ مكتبة الكونغرس بإحدى أعماله في قسم الكرتون. وقدمت له دعوة في عام 2017 ليمثل الفلسطينيين في مبنى الأمم المتحدة في مدينة نيويورك.
