Magical country, bright faces, radiant smiles, and a sarcastic pen still and will always tell stories and social and political jokes of the Maghreb countries holding the signature of the Morrocan Caricaturist Naji Banaji.
The artist Naji was born in Sidi Kacem in early 1967. Naji represents the middle generation in the world of Caricature in Maghreb. In spite of the modernity of the art of caricature in Morocco in comparison with countries like Egypt and Iraq, however the Moroccan caricaturists were given acceptance and high prevalence in the world of Arabic and International Press and amongst them was the artist Naji Banaji.
The caricatures of the artist Naji Banaji first saw the light on the newspapers pages in 1990, and since the beginning he had principles of impartiality. The basis of his ideas was the citizen’s problem and expressing them in his own way, the intensity of his caricatures resides there. Naji Banaji published his caricatures in several Arabic and Foreign Newspapers such as (Liberation, Gazette, and Independent) and other European newspapers, his caricatures were also published in many Moroccan newspapers and magazines including Alaan.Ma, AlKhabar, and others. Naji is one of the founders of Moroccan Association of Cartoon. He had also many publications related to the art of caricature.
Naji Banaji obtained many awards in the field of caricature exclusively in 2006 the special award in the International Caricature Competition about Palestine and the International Caricature Competition about the Nuclear Energy in Iran in 2006. He also obtained the second award in the Topic of Theatre in Damascus in 1995-2006 and the Topic of the Pen in Damascus in 2007. The last caricature award he obtained was in the International Barcelona Competition for Caricature about the Devil in Iran in 2011.
Naji Banaji was inspired by Hamouda in whom he believes that he had a soft, impartial middle pen. The pen of the artist Naji tends to combine between the caricature associated with a comment and the caricature based on the idea. Finally, this kind of art is reflected through the caricaturists who carried the message they received from their predecessors to pass it to their successors and amongst them was this artist known by his sarcastic caricatures and his quiet thoughts under Naji Banaji signature.

بلاد ساحرة ووجوه مشرقة وإبتسامات ناضرة وريشة ساخرة كانت وما زالت تروي قصص وطرائف إجتماعية وسياسية من بلاد المغرب العربي بتوقيع فنان الكاريكاتور المغربي ناجي بناجي.
ولد الفنان ناجي في سيدي قاسم في أوائل عام 1967 وهو يمثل الفنان ناجي أحد جيل الوسط في عالم الكاريكاتور بالمغرب العربي وبالرغم من حداثة فن الكاريكاتور في المغرب بالمقارنة ببلاد مثل مصر والعراق إلا أن رسامي الكاريكاتيو المغاربة لاقو قبول وإنتشار واسع في عالم الصحافة العربية والعالمية ومن بين هؤلاء الفنانين الفنان ناجي بناجي.
بدأت الرسوم الكاريكاتورية للفنان ناجي بناجي ترى النور على صفحات الجرائد عام 1990 ومنذ البداية كان له مبادىء حيث عدم الإنحياز وإنما أساس أفكاره هو مشكلة المواطن والتعبير عنها بطريقته الخاصة وهنا منطق القوة في رسوماته. قام الفنان ناجي بنشر رسوماته في العديد من الجرائد العربية والأجنبية منها (ليبراسيون و جازيت وإندبندنت ) وغيرهم من الجرائد الأوروبية وكذلك تم نشر رسومه في العديد من الجرائد والمجلات المغربية منها جريدة الوطن الأن وجريدة الخبر وغيرهم. يمثل الفنان ناجي من بين المؤسسين لإتحاد الرسامين المحترفين المغاربة كما كان له العديد من المطبوعات المقروءة الخاصة بفن الكاريكاتور.
نال الفنان ناجي العديد من الجوائز في مجال الكاريكاتور منها على سبيل الحصر في 2006 الجائزة الخاصة في المسابقة الدولية للكاريكاتور حول فلسطين وكذلك المسابقة الدولية للكاريكاتور حول الطاقة النووية في إيران عام 2006 . كما حصل على الجائزة الثانية في كل من موضوع المسرح بدمشق عامي (1995و2006) وموضوع القلم بدمشق عام 2007 وكانت آخر تلك الجوائز الخاصة بالكاريكاتور في مسابقة برشلونة الدولى للكاريكاتور حول موضوع الشيطان في إيران عام 2011.
تأثر الفنان ناجي بناجي بالفنان المغربي المرحوم حمودة كما يرى هذا الفنان أنه يملك ريشة وسطية ناعمة لا تتحيز لأى طرف أو شخص على الآخر. تميل ريشة الفنان ناجي للجمع بين الكاريكاتور المصاحب معه تعليق وكذلك للكاريكاتور المعتمد على الفكرة. وأخيرا يرى هذا الفن من خلال فناني الكاريكاتور اللذين أستلموا الرسالة مما سبقوهم ليحملوها إلى من يأتون من بعدهم وكان من بينهم هذا الفنان المتميز بلوحاته الساخرة وأفكاره الهادئة وبتوقيع ناجي بناجي.
