Kuwait - 1987
Adel Al Qallaf, a cartoonist from Kuwait, began his career in caricature drawing in 1997, after studying communication Engineering.
In its beginnings, Al Qallaf was a big fan of this art. Then it became a hobby that he improved with different experiences, until it became for him a message emerging all his ideas out of the realness of the society.
In 2002, he moved from traditional drawing to the world of digitals, using the Wacom and the computer for drawing, and various programs such as ProKit and Photoshop.
Al Qallaf drew for many known newspapers and magazines and mostly for the famous “Al-Siyassa Al-Kuwaytiya”.
He was named as a Vice President of the Anti-corruption Cartoon Committee in the “Transparency International” organization which is a global movement working in over 100 countries to end the injustice of corruption.
He participated in a number of workshops and Art exhibitions in Kuwait and abroad. In addition, he participated in the Kuwaiti Caricature Festival and in expositions that involved various issues, most notably: “Anti-Corruption exhibition” in 2013, “the Hashtag Gallery” in collaboration with many cartoonist from Kuwait, beside the exhibitions of “Tolerance Day” and “The Smile and The Law”, he also attended several art exhibitions toured between the Arab countries, France and America.
In 2012, Al Qallaf won the “Caricature Competition” from the Public Authority for the Youth and Sports. As he won in the “Sheikh Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabbah” competition for Journalistic Excellence, twice in 2016 and 2018.
In 2017, the 36th International Caricature Festival in France honored Adel Al Qallaf with two others out of 500 participants.

تخصص بهندسة الإتصالات وبدأ رسم الكاريكاتير عام 1997 وإحترف أيضا الرسم الإلكتروني عام 2002.
رسم لصحف ومجلات عدة أبرزها «السياسة الكويتية» .
نائب رئيس لجنة كاريكاتير ضد الفساد في جمعية الشفافية الكويتية عام ٢٠١٣.
شارك في العديد من ورش العمل والمعارض الفنية في الكويت وخارجها، كما شارك في مهرجانات الكاريكاتير وفي معارض تهتم بقضايا مختلفة أبرزها: «معرض مكافحة الفساد» عام 2013 و«معرض هاش تاق» مع مجموعة من رسامي الكاريكاتير في الكويت بالإضافة إلى معارض «يوم التسامح» و «الإبتسامة والقانون » كما حضر في معارض فنية عدة تتوزع بين الدول العربية وفرنسا وأميركا.
فاز بمسابقة الكاريكاتير في الهيئة العامة للشباب والرياضة عام 2012. كما فاز بالمركز الأول في مسابقة الشيخ مبارك الحمد الصباح للتميز الصحفي عامي 2016 و 2018
عام 2017 تم تكريمه في مهرجان الكاريكاتير العالمي في سانت جوست في فرنسا كأول كويتي خليجي يشارك منذ ستة وثلاثون عام.
